I have been absent from my blog for awhile. Life has been busy, things have been brewing, and in the weeks building up to Xmas there haven't been many surprises in TV Land in regards to ratings. We have entered the "rerun" time of year, with acception to any XMas programming put on.
My last blog spoke about how 'Raising the Bar' on TNT was cancelled, but that there were three more episodes that were going to air. Imagine my surprise when ... Read More

I know. I have been derelict in my duties as a TV Blogger. Oh, I've been watching for sure, but I've also been building up a new business that I'm excited about. Since this is not as yet a revenue generating thing, I have to sometimes put it in the back burner.
At the same time things have slowed down since the start of the season. I was fast and furious about writing on the status of the new shows in ... Read More

Week two of 'V' has seen a 29% decrease in viewers 18-49 with 10.56M viewers and a 3.7/10 rating. It came in #2 after NCIS. It's still on the map, that's the good thing. We'll have to wait and see where it lands in week 3 to see if it has found it's level of interest. According to tvbythenumbers.com it is the biggest % drop in a second airing episode for a new show this season. It's ... Read More

So, it seems that since moving to the Friday night 'death slot' on ABC, 'Ugly Betty' hasn't been performing well and will be moved to Wednesday nights again. I guess it's a compromise. It's ratings decreased , which is why it lost it's primo Thursday time slot, but putting it on Friday was like sentencing it to doom. Here's hoping Wednesday night improves it's ratings.
Surprisingly, 'The Forgotten' has been picked up for 5 more shows. ... Read More

No surprise, 'Trauma' was officially canceled this week. Word is that the 13 episodes initially ordered will run and no more will be ordered and aired. 'Chuck' has had an additional 6 episodes ordered which is probably a result of 'Trauma' being given the heave-ho. 'Chuck' will most likely be returning earlier than originally planned.
Well, I have been keeping a little record of all the shows that have been in talks with networks or have had a ... Read More

So, word is out that 'Southland' , which was slated to come back to NBC on Friday nights mid season, was canceled before it could even premiere for it's full first season (or was it the second half of it's first season, I'm not sure) I read that the network felt that it was too dark and gritty. Too gritty?!? Seriously folks, that is what made the show so darned good. I also read, however, ... Read More

As I watched last night I remember thinking how brave of Jay Leno to give up his late night spot and take on the 10pm time slot on . The pressure to really get ratings is high in that hour. Fail, and your show is canceled and you already gave up your late night seat. It's a bold move for NBC too, so it will be interesting to see if it pays off.

How frustrating it is today watching Eli Stone that I DVR'd yesterday. If any show wasn't deserving of cancellation it was most definitely Eli Stone. What is particularly frustrating is that there is so much story there that will never be told. If any of you watch the show you'll remember that in the first season Eli had a vision of him and Maggie at a rally together as a couple with their child. Yet when we ... Read More

Last night I was watching 'Kings', another canceled show that started showing up on my DVR. I truly enjoy the show, and as I was watching it I couldn't help think why wasn't this show a hit?If you haven't watched the series, it is about a fictitious country Gilboa who is at war with neighboring Gath. It is ruled by King Silas with his wife , his son and daughter at his side. His son, next ... Read More

As I mentioned in a previous blog a few weeks ago, ABC is going to burn off the remaining episodes of the canceled Eli Stone starting this Saturday at 10PM. They have been running the remaining episodes of Pushing Dasies in that time slot. There are only 4 episodes remaining, as it is set to end on 7/11. The remaining episodes of the canceled 'Dirty, Sexy, Money' will be taking it's place through August. If you haven't noticed 'Samantha ... Read More
