southcanceledSo, word is out that ‘Southland’ , which was slated to come back to NBC on Friday nights mid season, was canceled before it could even premiere for it’s full first season (or was it the second half of it’s first season, I’m not sure) I read that the network felt that it was too dark and gritty. Too gritty?!? Seriously folks, that is what made the show so darned good. I also read, however, that the remaining episodes are being pitched to cable (of which there were six). Marc Berman of pifeedback.com felt that TNT should seriously consider it. I second that. It would be perfect on TNT. Here’s hoping that it gets picked up for more than just the six episodes. It was seriously a really good show people!

Whose really in cancellation danger?  I believe they are Three Rivers, The Forgotten, Melrose Place, Cold Case, Trauma, Parks & Recreation, Brothers, Eastwick.   There are shows that still have a wait and see like Mercy, Hank, and Fringe,  to name a few (actually Hank is listed as likely to be canceled on tvbythenumbers.com renew/cancel index).

It’s short but sweet today folks.  The DVR numbers for week two are not really out yet, and actually the ones that were out did not have too m any new shows on them at all, as it was the week before the heavy premieres. That’s why I held off. The new numbers should be out soon and I will definitely blog about it this week.    What will be interesting to see this week is where ‘Cougar Town’, ‘Modern Family’ and ‘Flash Forward’ settle.  I’m also curious to see if ‘Three Rivers’ fairs any better in the ratings in their week two!  I hope so.
