I have been neglecting my TV Blog lately. I’ve just been so busy working on a local Burlesque Festival that I am putting on. I have, of course, kept up with my tv viewing.
I haven’t been too concerned because there isn’t much to blog about as far as the ratings are concerned. The shows have all leveled off and they are what they are. We are now just waiting to see what the networks are going to do.
To Recap, here is what is going on (information is from tvbythenumbers.com:
At CBS ‘Three Rivers’ and ‘Cold Case’ are on the ‘Most Likely to be Canceled’ list. ‘New Adventures of Old Christine’ and ‘Gary Unmarried’ are in some danger of cancellation. All other shows are on the ‘Most Likely to be Renewed’. Carnage at CBS is not too bad.
NBC is not fairing so great. ‘Mercy’ has now fallen on the ‘Most Likely To Be Canceled List’ along with ‘Trauma’. It seems it’s time to retire long running ‘Law & Order’ which has also landed itself on that list. ‘Parks & Recreation’ and ‘Community’ are in some danger of cancellation while ‘Heroes’, ‘Law & Order SVU’ , ‘30 Rock’ and ‘The Office’ all look to be pretty safe. ‘Trauma’ never received it’s back 9 order and so it will air only the 13 initial episodes (unless NBC pulls it before all shows air). I’m still watching it and trying hard not to get attached to the characters. That includes ‘Mercy’ too.
Over at ABC ‘Ugly Betty’, ‘Hank’ , ‘Eastwick’, and ‘The Forgotten’ are most likely to be canceled. According to pifeedback.com, ‘Ugly Betty’ was only brought back for this season so that it could get picked up for syndication. ‘The Middle’ & ‘Castle’ have both received full season orders (the back 9) which is good news but, whether they will be returning next year is up in the air. ‘Modern Family’ , ‘Cougar Town’, ‘Flash Forward’ are all likely to be renewed along with ‘Brothers & Sisters’, ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ , ‘Private Practice’ and of course ‘Desperate Housewives’.
‘Till Death’ , ‘Brothers’ and ‘Dollhouse’ are most likely to be canceled over at FOX. ‘Fringe’ is still on the ‘in some danger’ list. It’s about time they got rid of ‘Dollhouse’. They should have done that last year!
Over at Cable, did you all catch the new show ‘White Collar’? I stumbled upon in on accident (it immediately followed something else I was watching) and so I recorded it to try it out. It’s good and the hubby liked it. It received approx 5.40M viewers. ‘Dexter’ on Showtime reached an all time high of 1.7M viewers.
Speaking of ‘Dexter’ , I’m totally loving this new season. My favorite was the week before last when he realized that he does not want to lose his family. See, I knew ‘Dexter’ had a heart, otherwise he wouldn’t enjoy killing bad people. I don’t think the character would get the same high killing someone that doesn’t deserve it! Who would have ever thought you could love a serial killer character like ‘Dexter’? This past Sunday’s episode, also excellent particularly the ending! Lithgow is doing a great job!
So, I am completely pumped and excited about Tuesday’s premiere of ‘V’. I’m so hoping that it kicks TV rating BUTT! I just finished watching the opening 10 minutes to show. Amazing. But don’t take my word for it. Here is the first look!
